not quite year review

This has been a tough year. Really tough. Not nice at all in many regards. But also it’s been a year of extreme learning and learning is not a steady even path. It’s not even always moving forward. It often means going a long way back to figure out why things are not as expected.

It’s one thing though to experience that in a field of study but entirely different when it is about the very fundamentals of your life. 

I can’t say I have answers. But the initial shock has worn off. I think I can say now it was shock. It felt like the carpet was pulled from under my feet and I had nothing to stand on. 

The shock has passed but I can’t say the effects have passed. That is the next stage I think.
