Social media is weird. This post was written at a specific time after, by now, hundreds of hours of dedicated research and effort, but as it will appear as a preview in many different timelines all of that context is stripped.



It isn’t really but the way we use social media and the way social media responds to that and ramps it up means that basically everyone has to either find some way to restate everything each and every time, or we collectively recognise this and don’t rely on instinct and reply immediately but instead go and look for that context.



And consider just how important it is to respond- is it really needed? This is something that the disability community and chronically ill community deal with regularly and there is a great thread on why “Just asking” is actually really not helpful:







So I’m about to do a longer post as a catch up but not really expecting it to wind up being so!
