My mum is left handed so I get to use the (electric) can opener and things because they just really don't work for her. And she opens heavily glued paper bags because my hands don't work that way :)

The good thing here is there are a handful of actual stitches for construction and generally the sit on the floor pin to the knee and work out from there approach works for either hand :)
